Ziryab
Ziryab came from Baghdad to Arabian Al Andalus at a time when the civilization was flourishing and was waiting for someone like him to add a sprinkle of magic to their music, fashion and etiquette. He founded the first music school in Europe, added an extra pair of strings to the Oud instrument, and pioneered a new style of singing. He also Introduced people to see-through clothes, wearing white in the summer months, and short haircuts and fringes for women. He created toothpaste and a new type of deodorant. He also came up with the concept of a three-course meal.
For a medieval era, Arabian Alandalus has aspired a level of sophistication that says as much about this civilization as its libraries and architecture.
